Due to a bug, your brakes quality slider should be set to 0 until further notice. This rule will be in effect for every single series or challenge or race in this league until further notice.
Season 2 will be held Monday March 18th, 2019 at 1PM EST: Same time as before, but I think daylight savings may effect it? Someone smarter than me can figure that out and leave a comment. Might want to double check with me before the race to make sure you have the time right.
Use the uploader on the site, please: Not a rule, just please do that instead of giving me a download link. Files uploaded via the uploader have a copy sent directly to my PC and it makes my life a lot easier. Not required, but appreciated. Thanks.
Build your cars in the current version of the game: Do it. I don't have time to be messing around with older versions of Automation cars. If you don't own the game just buy it. You're in a community built around this game. You've spent the time, you know it's a good game, you know it's worth it, the developers aren't a big evil corporation, they're essentially people like you and me just trying to make a living. Mow some lawns, walk some dogs, steal a strangers wallet, get a quick job, sell drugs, become an astronaut, whatever. Just buy the damn game.
New Rule for 8KC: 16K Maximum Market Cost. Check the rules thread in the 8KC section of the forums if you don't know where to find your market cost. I believe both engineering time and production units factor into your market cost, unlike the material cost, so be easy on those sliders, and be careful which parts/materials you use.
New Rules for LWC: 500 Horsepower Limit. Pretty self explanatory.
Pre-Show Series: You guys voted for Fuel Racing for the Season 2 pre-show. I know the poll said no rules for this, but I will be forcing a 500 Horsepower cap for this series, as well as the typical no modded bodies, no V16's, and no editing files. Do not submit entry forms for this series, just upload them via the uploader on the site. Put "fuel racer" somewhere in the car name so that I can identify it.
Aftershow Series: This was a 50/50 split between Production Car Racing, and Rally Racing. I'm choosing to go with Production Car Racing due to less rules, and me not needing to record new lines for rally racing. Rally lines are going to be a significant and difficult task to do properly, and something I'll work on in the future. For now we'll go with the production car racing. A poll will be held soon to determine the category that will need 120 market score in to be eligible to race. Once again, no modded bodies, no V16's, and no editing files. Do not submit entry forms, just upload these via the uploader on the site. Put whatever market category the car belongs to in the name of the car somewhere so that I can identify it in BeamNG.
More Track Variety: I experimented with using only race-track based tracks in Season 1, and received mixed feedback regarding it. I'd like to go back to more Season 0 type tracks, but keep in mind I'm only going to try to keep as much stuff to one map each season. When we revisit West Coast, it will be easy to get interesting tracks involved. However, if we were to do a Hirochi based season it will be more difficult considering the Hirochi Speedway map is pretty much just the track.
Updating your cars: To update your car for Season 2 you may either create a new entry or reply to your old one noting any changes. Then just upload your car on the website. You may also replace your entry with a brand new car if you wish. I'll make a post a few days before Season 2 with a list of the cars I have and which have been updated. Make sure to check that post so that you know I received it. I do make mistakes.
*Note that as long as your car still fits within the new rules for it's series (including the brake rule), and is not in the list below as noncompetitive, you are not required to make an update to your car if you don't want to.
Cars *needing* updated due to competitiveness:
LWC: 101, 166, 56
8KC: 22, 101, 04, 56, 54, 8
These cars scored zero points and have been deemed noncompetitive. They will need to be updated or replaced for season 2 or they will not compete.
To address a couple things mentioned by people in the poll:
NASCAR Series: I'd love to make a NASCAR based series or single challenge at some point, but I doubt it will happen any time soon. For many reasons. For one, there aren't any really good NASCAR-like tracks out there. The only ones I know of have wonky banking, poor lighting, or are too small to easily count laps. Another reason is the cars in NASCAR are practically all the same. It's mostly up to the drivers and setup tweaks. An Automation challenge should probably be primarily about engineering skill. Yet another reason is I don't think many of our members here have any interest in NASCAR, considering how vastly spread across the globe so many of them are. Only a couple people voted for the idea of everyone having the same body, engine size/type, and chassis type. Adding a NASCAR theme to that takes even more potential interest away from the idea. If we ever do an engineering challenge type deal like we're talking about with the same body, chassis, engine, etc. it would likely resemble a lower-powered F1 series, where crazy ideas and experimental engineering would be needed to gain an edge on the competition. There is however a nice dirt oval on West Coast USA that I'd like to do something with though, so keep an eye out.
Cutoff Date for Entries: Somebody asked for a more definite cutoff date for entries. I'm not going to do that. If I have time to throw a car into the competition I will. Try to get them in 3 days before the race if you want to be sure I'll have time (I usually gather cars up and do tech inspection on the Saturday before the race). If somebody wants to be angry that I didn't have time to put them in the race, they can be angry all they want. It doesn't make a difference to me. I spend too much time doing this stuff to feel sympathy for someone who had over a week to submit a car and chose to do it one hours before the stream.
Thanks guys! Season 1 did great, looking forward to Season 2!

I will try to upload my submissions onto here, but I'm having problems logging into the site on my PC.
One rule I forgot: "No engine stress, no valve float, no engine knocking."
This is in place for season 2 and beyond for 8KC, LWC, and TSC.
Also yes, TSC will be starting in Season 2.
