Just some dumb ideas that might be fun. The Shitbox Derby
All qualities set to -15, maximum $8000 market cost. Extremely lazy/stupid car styling is encouraged. Maybe set to an earlier time period.
One Body thingy
No regulations except you have to use one particular body. Something unusual or restrictive, like a van or that tiny 60s hatchback. Maybe even that Peel P50 mod body.
Shitbox Derby: I love this idea. I do think the costs change a bit based on the years. 8000 sounds good for a market cost for current day, I feel like it might be a bit high if we go back in time. I'd rather do modern time just to give people more bodies to fuck with though. @Repti, keep in mind this is market cost, not material cost. Market cost is usually a bit more.
One body: I had an early idea using the body that's banned from the street racing series. Essentially a series where you have to use that body, your engine has to be a specific size and type (350 c.i. V8? 2.2l 4cyl? idk) and everything else is up to you. I thought it would be nice to have some really close racing, where it really came down to edging people out with engineering skill. I figured people would want more variety than that though.
I do like your idea with using a weird, restrictive body. Maybe just restrict the wheelbase to something incredibly small, which would limit you to the tiniest cars and engines?
Repti is right though, we do already have 2-3 series. However, I've had the idea to do an introduction race. Basically one longer, less serious race at the start of a stream just to kick it off while people make their way into the stream. The shitbox derby sounds like a great idea for that. I'll let the idea sit for now, but we could probably get some rules together and introduce it around season 2 if we don't get better ideas.
If anybody else wants to throw out some ideas for a silly race we could do before the big races, post them here. We could do a new one each season, honestly.
Keep in mind, they should be something easily built without too much time invested, and probably without too many rules.
